WELCOME TO NUQETOWN
Who are we?
We are what's been missing from the mainstream
We are you
In an ideal world, music is the soundtrack to our lives. It should therefore, reflect the real world that we live in and the very real struggles that we are faced with on a daily basis. Fact is, the term “rap fatigue” has been the overarching theme in recent years spreading throughout our culture, with many fans of all ages expressing frustrations on social media.
Rap music has become too commercial, formulaic, and predictable. Fashion trends have become questionable to say the least, with even younger fans beginning to loop back to trends of the mid to late 90’s. Heavily auto-tuned whiny sounding mumble rap clones and hyper-provocative raunch-rap artists (so called “Baddies”) have taken over playlists and the term GOAT has lost nearly all meaning as the 4 pillars, originality, skills and abilities that were once valued and praised universally, are now mocked as outdated relics of the past.
However, most mature and intelligent individuals cannot, nor do they want to, relate to the widespread and overly explicit “cootie-cat raps” and are tired of the repetitive stereotypical topics. From exaggerated lies about money and sex to song…after song…after song, bragging about alleged criminal activities that are basically just a profitable form of snitching.
We’re tired of the industry force feeding us the same redundant weak garbage just repackaged under new names. Then, using botted streaming numbers to monopolize platforms, justify gate-keeping, and stop substantive artists with actual talent from ever breaking through to be heard and discovered by audiences that are starving for something more; all the while, rapidly destroying the moral fabric of younger, more impressionable generations in the process.
